Great to have Paul still with us. So fun to have our now Boston friends back in SF! This was my first recipe from 101 Cookbooks. I actually bought her cookbook on the way home today and hope to cook more. Turns out that Broccoli-Basil Mac & Cheese is good but the quality to work ratio might not be that ideal.
I wanted to make a Mario recipe for fava beans with Pecorino. No fava beans in the store so I used extra asparagus left in the fridge from yesterday. Tasted yummy but am excited to try with the fava beans.
A week of cooking ahead.
- Sunday: Knavis Knitchen on the road. Salmon with Pumpkin Seed-Cilantro Pesto, Asparagus with Lemon and Pecorino, Kale Salad
- Monday: Trying out the Broccoli-Basil Mac and Cheese from 101 Cookbooks
- Tuesday: Crispy Black Bean Tacos. An old favorite
- Wednesday: Work event. Leftovers for Robin
- Thursday: Potato and Arugula Pizza
- Friday: Off to Chicago to visit Erin!
After a great day up on Tomales Bay, I needed something other than seafood. Having just grilled Asparagus, I added it to a pasta with lemon juice, zest, butter and some cream. A warm, fresh dish. We enjoyed it with friends while watching Stanford’s exciting game against USC. Paul and other continued to eat Oysters.
This is one of our favorite meals. I am shocked that this is the first time I have cooked this since starting Knavis Knitchen. Recently I have starting reserving pasta water and adding to the mix. It yields much riches sauce.
Tuesday. Great Halibut. Tried to grill but ran out of gas during the pre-heat. I knew that was going to happen some day. Converted recipe to the stove top and loved it. The fish was some of the best I have made off the grill. Started in saute pan w/ evoo. Finished under broiler. Great fish ($18 for .8 lbs) helps.
Monday. Special guests and tagliatelle with corn pesto. So fun to have Nephew William (he calls me Uncle Andrew) and the rest of the Chong crew here for the night.
